About Calvin

Hello there and thanks for showing interest in Calvin McCluskie's work. This is a blog site that I, Calvin's dad, have been running for him for a good few years now.

Calvin is a burgeoning artist who has just finished high school. As well as being a very talented sculpture and model maker, Calvin is also autistic. Rather than this being a hindrance to any of his hopes and ambitions, he's worked hard to overcome any problems that autism could cause him and is now beginning to carve out a career for himself doing what he loves best.

From an early age Calvin has shown real flare for art in both drawing and also modelling. He is now becoming a serious artist and has already been lucky enough to have had a few commissions, has had is work used in the making of Grand Theft Auto IV and has also successfully sold some of his work.

One of Calvin's admirers is Oscar winner Nick Park of Aardman Animations who, after seeing some of Calvin's earlier work, said: "Calvin's models are excellent. He obviously has bags of skill, imagination and humour and shows great promise as a model maker and perhaps an animator in the future".

As well as showing his work here on his blogsite, Calvin is currently exhibiting at The Gallery on The Corner in Edinburgh.

Calvin has recently sold some pieces in a charity auction to raise funds for The Yard which is a purpose built indoor and outdoor adventure playground in Edinburgh for children and young people with additional support needs and children in the community.

If you would like to find out more about Calvin, give him some positive feedback or even commission work then please contact Calvin here.

Thanks for your time and I hope you enjoy Calvin's work.

Cheers,
Chris
